Wonder by R. J. Palacio and Infinite Sky Giveaway!

So, as I wrote when I was featured over at The Overflowing Library's Bookcase Showcase, I have toooo many books. And I can't stop buying them. It's one of my-least-necessary-to-keep-private problems.

Probably self-explanatory

In the spirit of sharing my love of good books, I've decided to give one of my favourite new books away - WONDER by R. J. Palacio - along with a copy of INFINITE SKY.

The books look vaguely similar, and I think they could probably be quite good friends, if they would only make the effort.

R. J. Palacio's WONDER

Both have themes of prejudice and judgement and loyalty, and both are written by authors with the middle initial 'J'.

Coincidence? Yes.

To enter the competition, and be in with a chance of winning one of these lovely blue books, answer this following question in the comments box below, and leave a way for me to get hold of you. The contest will run for a month.

Which shade of blue do you prefer?

a. The blue of WONDER by R. J. Palacio
b. The blue of INFINITE SKY by C. J. Flood

N.B. There's no wrong answer.

  1. Blue (more blue than aqua) is my favorite, but there's just something about the contrast of the greys and aqua and white on INFINITE SKY (also, love the font!) that is just lovely. (papereader[at]gmail[dot]com)

They really do look quite brilliant together!

  2. I like the blue of Infinite Sky better. It's not so blue. More like blue-green, I guess? :D

  3. I like "The Infinite Sky" better, and I'm not just just kissing up. :) The first thing I thought when I looked at Wonder was, "Oh, that looks just like The Fault In Our Stars." Both the color and the design are startlingly similar. Now, I loved TFIOS, but since it's so well-known, I think it kind of "owns" that particular shade of blue.

    1. That's funny, Stephanie. I think blue books are having a moment for sure. The Perks of Being A Wallflower is also predominantly blue, and a big hit.

  4. I have a dream that one day these pages will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character. Let infinity ring blue. Let wonder ring blue. These books in my grasp, they'll be free at last... (I'm colourblind.) Sam Duda

  5. I've always had a soft spot for light blue. So for me, I love the blue from Wonder. It's so bright!

  6. Oooh...tough question. I'd say that Infinite Sky is more turquoise....but I have to say, the blue of wonder is very, very lovely. Bright and cheerful!

  8. I prefer the Wonder blue, because it matches the colour of my photo/postcard wall so reminds me of all the amazing memories I have with friends and family. But I think I prefer the Infinite Sky cover design :)

  10. I'm gonna go for the blue of WONDER, 'cause of the hint of green. A good mix of two great colours. I'm @araenvo on Twitter and, y'know, me on my blog.

    2. This isn't Nathan. Who is Nathan? Are you collecting copies of Luke and Jon? Are you building a dam?

    3. I think it is Nathan. Yep. I'm certain of it.

  12. I like both, but thinking about it Wonder's blue is almost the same shade as my bedroom walls :) Plus I love the font of Infinite Sky. Oh, and I am @awfullotofbooks on twitter :)

  13. Definitely the blue of Infinite Sky, my favourite colour is along the lines of sea-green so it's right in between blue and green. Infinite Sky's blue definitely has that teal-hue to it which I love :) I'm @gypsyreviews at twitter!

  14. I think the Infinite Sky blue makes more sense given the title and the scene portrayed on the cover. While Wonder provides a simple picture, the lone contrast of white and blue seemed a little too plain. It still caught my eye on the shelf. Twitter @13Boomers.

  15. I have no color prejudices, judgements, or loyalty. ;) In all seriousness, though-- I don't have colors that I really love over another color, just colors that I love over another color based on WHERE they are, you know? Just like you couldn't swap the two blues and have either book cover look right. The blue they have is the one perfect in each situation.

And wow. How was that for a non-committal answer? :)

  16. Blue is my favorite color so I love both but prefer the blue color in Wonder. I tend to like shades from a cool color palette and that is the perfect blue of sky and blue eyes.:)

  17. I like both very much! (since blue is my favorite color :P)
But if hard pressed to choose just one, I'd say Infinite Sky. The turquoise kind of blue is just gorgeous. :)
